Ravenna - Chiesa di San Niccolň 14 March 2009 – 4 October 2009
This was designed as an itinerant exhibition to show the world the marvellous maritime villas of ancient Stabia, buried under the ashes of the Vesuvius in 79 A. D. 170 extraordinary and extremely fragile exhibits, including frescos, stuccos and bronzes, required handling with the utmost care. The first stage of the show was held at the Hermitage in St Petersburg between December 2007 and March 2008, and was, according to the Times, one of the best ten exhibitions of 2008.
